Lee-Shay was one of my brides who wanted something very original and specific. She and her fiance’ were planning an elegant wedding that was inspired by the 1920’s and 1930’s era. They were going for glamorous sophistication but her dress was to be subtly glam and timeless in style and design.

Lee-shay wanted her wedding dress to be clean and simple. She didn’t want any lace on her dress, but instead wanted a bias cut vintage inspired gown that had clean lines and was simple, clean and glamorous.

When we had our consultation, I advised that she have a more modern fit and flare cut on the skirt in order to accentuate her natural curves and cinch in her small waist.

Lee-Shay wanted an ivory silk for her gown but we ended up selecting a heavier satin fabric so that I could achieve the structured, fine lines that we wanted. After a few fittings, the dress really came together beautifully and she looked incredibly beautiful on her wedding day!

This gown proves that less is indeed more, simplicity can be the most elegant of all.

Hi Friends!
I just thought I'd share this really great article written by Farah Khalfe for the huge online magazine, Cape Town Etc.
Farah saw my wedding dresses at the Wedding Expo a few weeks ago and really likes what she saw. As a result she decided to write an article interviewing me about  my design journey and how I came to get into Bridal wear in Cape Town.

Odwa’s dream dress for her white wedding day!

It was such an honour and a pleasure to work with the beautiful Odwa on creating her dream wedding dress. When She first came to me it was about 2 months before the wedding. She had a clear idea in mind of what she wanted and was searching to buy it off the hanger. Unfortunately I didn’t have the wedding dress she was looking for so after fitting a few of my dresses she left and I didn’t expect to see her again.

Fast forward to a month before the wedding, and I got a frantic message from our dear Odwa, saying she had searched high and low and still hadn’t secured her dream dress. Despite the tight deadline, I jumped to the rescue. We clarified her design and fabrics and I got started right away.

Odwa’s dream wedding dress was a mermaid shape with a structured corset, V neck made from lace, long lace sleeves and a full body made from appliqued lace. The back of her bridal gown dropped down to a V and the back was finished off with a long row of satin covered buttons. The skirt was to have an inverted V line and the skirt made from billowing soft tulle. Finally, the tulle skirt was edged with exquisite lace trim.

We chose to make the body of the wedding dress from an elegant champagne colour and over that we placed the ivory lace. The combination is quite heavenly!

To finish Odwa’s bridal look off, I made her a plain ivory veil.
She looked the epitome of stylish sophistication and I couldn’t be happier for her and her new hubby!
Hi Friends!

I am excited to announce that I will be once again attending the Wedding Expo in Cape Town on the 10th and 11th of June. I attend this expo every year as I find that it’s expertly run and is always a pleasant experience for both exhibitors and attendees alike.

I will have a stand at the expo where I will have a selection of my bridal wear available to view. They will also be holding a fashion show twice a day on both the saturday and Sunday and I will have five of my favourite wedding dresses walking the runway for you to see.

As well as all of the above, I will be offering all brides who are attending the expo a free mini consultation and bridal fitting to the value of R300.

The Wedding Expo will have a wide variety of vendors for all of your wedding needs, so be sure to pop in and cut down on your planning time!
